February 2015 was our busiest month ever. With the premiere of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie and Valentines Day both happening in the same month, we kind of expected an increase in traffic to our site but never did we expect such an unprecedented demand for our range of products. We saw a spike in interest from couples, both young and old, as they bombarded our ticketing system with questions about they various types of bondage gear and couples sex toys they could try. We also received a higher than usual number of enquiries via phone and email from couples, singles, men, women, old, young, during that period. And because most of these enquiries are of a very personal nature, we wanted to take time to provide the best possible recommendation. We found ourselves in a Catch-22 moment whereby we didn't want our potential customers to call in only to find out that no one was available to attend to them; and on the other hand we didn't want to rush through the call while we were attending to another customer who was on the line. For most couples, purchasing sex toys online was something that was a first time experience. We want to take the time to walk them through what they would potentially be keen to try, issues such as - privacy, discreet packaging and delivery were almost always one of their top concerns and many preferred to self-collect their shipments.

While we worked day and night to fulfill orders, liaised with our overseas suppliers to fulfill backorders, we realised that we did not have the resources to field enquiries from both customers and the media that was coming at us 24/7. And we had no choice but to take down our phone numbers from our website because we no longer had the manpower to field those calls. Having experience that, we went ahead with an online email ticketing system instead so that we could get back on those enquiries that would give us ample time to assess and provide product recommendations and advice. Having said that, we do apologize if you were one of those who tried to look for our numbers to call.

The entire experience made us all extremely exhausted and at the same time we realised that our very tiny, but supposedly mighty team no longer had the resources nor the time to meet and provide a seamless customer delivery and collection experience. So we began our hunt to look for a partner that was able to meet a segment of our customers who demanded self-collection, but also did not want to sacrifice privacy, discreetness, and convenience. 

After weeks of search and a 2 month trial, we eventually decided to partner with SingPost to offer our customers self-collection service via POPStations at their ever growing list of 170+ locations islandwide. Over the last 2 months, we received very positive feedback from our customers. Our customers not only get to choose which POPStation which they can collect from, and they no longer have to wait at home or work, nor spend time to head down to the post office to collect their items. On top of that, they now get timely SMS and email notifications that tracks their parcel's status from the very instance we create waybills right to the stage where the item gets delivered in the POPStation. This service is currently used by a select number of e-merchants like Zalora, Rakuten, Taobao and we hope that we've made the right decision. 

What is POPStation?

POPStation (Pick Own Parcel Station) is a new and secure way to collect your parcels. You can now shop online with SingPost's retail partners and have your items delivered to a POPStation near you for self-collection 24/7 at your own convenience. There is no additional charge for collection at the POPStation.

Who can use the POPStation self-collection service?

POPStation self collection service is available to all customers who wish pick up their items from any one of the 170+ POPStations located in Singapore e.g. If you are a tourist who do not yet have a hotel room allocated and would rather pick your items up at a POPStation at Changi Airport upon arrival.
